Sanct Valentin Sauvignon DOC - Kellerei St. Michael-Eppan
Sanct Valentin Sauvignon DOC - Kellerei St. Michael-EppanA glass of Sanct Valentin Sauvignon DOC - Kellerei St. Michael-Eppan shines in bright straw yellow with delicate greenish reflections. Already at the first swirl, a dense, precise bouquet rises to the nose. Ripe peach meets juicy gooseberry and the striking note of blackcurrant. Added to this are hints of lime peel, yellow grapefruit and fresh mint. With a little air, the wine unfolds fine nuances of elderflower, nettle and a touch of sage. A cool, stony minerality is reminiscent of wet pebbles after a summer rain. The fruit appears clear, ripe and yet focused, without any heaviness. The aroma reveals its alpine origin from Alto Adige, where cool nights ensure precision and tension in the glass. On the palate, Sanct Valentin Sauvignon DOC - Kellerei St. Michael-Eppan is direct, powerful and at the same time sharply defined. The crisp texture carries the aromas with palpable energy over the tongue. Juicy citrus fruit, cassis and ripe gooseberry combine with fine, ripe acidity. A hint of passion fruit and yellow kiwi broadens the fruit profile, while always remaining elegant and straightforward. The body shows power, yet the firm acidity and salty minerality keep the wine consistently in balance. The structure is reminiscent of a mountain stream: crystal-clear, cool and with noticeable drive. At mid-palate, a fine creaminess appears, reminiscent of ripe yellow plum and a touch of white currant. The dry style comes across as precise, unadorned and very style-conscious. The finish leaves a long, vibrant impression. Citrus freshness, cassis leaf and subtle herbal spice fade slowly. A faint smoky trace and mineral saltiness immediately invite the next sip. This Sauvignon Blanc displays the alpine character of South Tyrol and combines it with international class. Typically for Sauvignon Blanc, this wine shows pronounced aromas of green fruit, citrus and fine herbs. However, the variety brings not only freshness here, but also depth and drive. In Alto Adige, the grapes ripen at higher altitudes with cool nights and intense sunshine. This results in dense aromas, ripe acidity and a clear, distinguished structure. The strengths of Sanct Valentin Sauvignon DOC - Kellerei St. Michael-Eppan are revealed in many facets, for example in these characteristics: Intense, varietally typical nose with cassis, gooseberry and elderflower Crisp, lively acidity with a firm, clear line Pronounced minerality with a cool, stony character Long, precise finish with citrus and herbal spice High ageing potential that brings additional complexity In the glass, this Sauvignon develops in stages. Directly after pouring, citrus and fresh herbs dominate. After a few minutes, ripe peach and exotic nuances join in. Step by step, the wine opens up and reveals its full aromatic spectrum: Fresh citrus and cassis notes right after pouring Floral hints and fine spice after a brief swirl Exotic fruit and creamy texture with some air Mineral depth and smoky nuances in the long finish In stylistic terms, this Alto Adige Sauvignon stands for elegance, clarity and precision. The combination of cool climate, alpine breeze and limestone-based soils yields a distinctive minerality. The vinification is geared towards freshness and finesse, not opulence. As a result, despite its power, the wine always appears polished and refined. Production of Sanct Valentin Sauvignon DOC from Kellerei St. Michael-Eppan The grapes for this Sauvignon Blanc come from selected sites around Eppan in Alto Adige. The vineyards lie at medium to higher altitudes, where warm days meet cool nights. These temperature differences ensure slow ripening, intense aroma development and stable acidity. The vines grow predominantly on limestone and gravel soils with a high stone content. The soils store warmth during the day and release it gently at night. At the same time, they lend the wine its typical cool, stony minerality. The slopes ensure good ventilation of the vineyards. This way, the grapes ripen cleanly and develop concentrated aromas of citrus, cassis and peach. Here, Sauvignon Blanc reveals all its class. The variety brings freshness, pronounced aromatics and clear structure. In Alto Adige, it also gains an alpine spice and finely chiselled acidity. Kellerei St. Michael-Eppan has been working with this grape variety for many years and knows its requirements for site and harvest time very precisely. The harvest is selective, often carried out in several passes. The winegrowers pick the grapes in the early morning hours, when the berries are still cool. This preserves the delicate aromas of cassis, gooseberry and citrus fruit. Only fully ripe grapes make it to the cellar, where an initial sorting takes place. After gentle delivery, the whole clusters or lightly crushed berries are pressed softly. Short maceration times on the skins intensify the varietal aromatics without extracting coarse bitter substances. The musts flow cooled into stainless steel tanks, where temperature-contr...| 价格 |
