Unico White - ConceitoThe Unico White aged in barrels from the Douro & Porto wine-growing region reveals itself in the glass in a bright golden yellow. When swirling the glass, one can perceive an excellent balance in this white wine, as it neither appears watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. This Portuguese cuvée flatters the glass with wonderfully expressive notes of lemons, pineapple, jasmine and green apple. Added to this are hints of toasted wood and minerality. This wine delights with its elegantly dry taste profile. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and thus, despite all its dryness, this Portuguese wine enchants with the finest balance. Flavor does not necessarily need sugar. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced white wine presents itself as wonderfully light. On the finish, this well-ageing white wine from the Douro & Porto wine-growing region finally impresses with considerable length. Once again, hints of pineapple and jasmine appear. Vinification of Conceito Unico White The basis for the first-class and wonderfully balanced Unico White cuvée from Conceito are Folgasao, Arinto, Codega do Larinho, Donzelinho Branco, Gouveio and Rabigato grapes. The Unico White is an Old World wine through and through, as this Portuguese wine exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. After the grape harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house immediately. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled. Food recommendation for Conceito Unico White This Portuguese wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfectly suited as an accompaniment to spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto, omelet with salmon and fennel, or fried trout with ginger and pear.
