Haut-Médoc AOC Cru Borgeois 0,375l - Château d'Arcins

Haut-Médoc AOC Cru Borgeois 0,375l - Château d'ArcinsHaut-Médoc AOC Cru Borgeois 0,375l - Château d'ArcinsIn the glass, Haut-Médoc AOC Cru Bourgeois 0.375l – Château d'Arcins shows a radiant ruby red with delicate garnet reflections. The colour appears dense and clear, like a promise of classic Médoc charm. From the first swirl, an elegant bouquet rises from the glass, immediately recalling the gravel soils of the left bank of the Gironde. On the nose, a deep, noble fruit of blackcurrant and ripe blackberry unfolds. Cassis forms the aromatic centre. Fine notes of oak and vanilla frame this dark fruit like an elegant frame. Subtle roasted aromas evoke cedarwood, mocha and a hint of tobacco. With some air, nuances of dried herbs, graphite and delicate peppery spice emerge. On the palate, the wine shows the clear style of a classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The structure appears precise, taut and at the same time harmonious. Ripe tannins lie silkily on the tongue and give the wine backbone. The acidity appears fresh and lively, without sharpness, and carries the dark fruit elegantly into the long finish. The taste reveals dry finesse with a dense but not heavy texture. Blackcurrant, morello cherries and a touch of plum combine with vanilla, toasted oak and a fine cocoa note. On the mid-palate there are subtle hints of liquorice, clove and a touch of smoke. The finish is long, spicy and clear, with delicate minerality and refined oak spice. The style of this Haut-Médoc comes across as classic, firm and at the same time surprisingly accessible. The wine shows plenty of character without ever seeming overpowering. Bordeaux enthusiasts get an elegant interpretation of the region here, one that focuses on balance rather than sheer power. The terroir in the Haut-Médoc decisively shapes this wine. Gravelly and sandy soils over a core of clay and limestone provide ideal conditions for Cabernet and Merlot. The Atlantic climate with mild winters and moderate summers allows for a long ripening period. The grapes ripen slowly and develop fine aromatics as well as stable structure. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot brings the typical strengths of both varieties into the glass: Cabernet Sauvignon contributes structure, tannin and aromas of cassis, cedarwood and graphite. Merlot brings fullness, juicy fruit of plum and cherry and gentle roundness. Together, they create a wine with depth, drinking pleasure and classic Bordeaux character. Those who enjoy this Haut-Médoc AOC Cru Bourgeois 0.375l – Château d'Arcins experience a multi-layered play of aromas: At the outset, cassis dominates with blackberry and some cherry. In the middle, oak, vanilla and roasted aromas come to the fore. In the finale, graphite, tobacco and fine herbs combine to create a long, elegant finish. The half-bottle is perfect for enjoyment for two or for a glass with a fine dish. This way, you can enjoy great Bordeaux without a large bottle. The format is ideal for a stylish evening on a small scale or as a noble addition to a menu with several wines. Each sip reflects the signature of the château, which has generations of experience with Médoc terroir. Care in the vineyard, precise harvesting and targeted use of oak shape a wine that appears classic and at the same time shows modern drinkability. Production of Haut-Médoc AOC Cru Bourgeois 0.375l from Château d'Arcins The grapes for Haut-Médoc AOC Cru Bourgeois 0.375l – Château d'Arcins come from selected parcels in the heart of the Haut-Médoc, north of Bordeaux. The vines grow on typical gravel ridges that store warmth during the day and gently release it to the grapes at night. Beneath the gravel lies a layer of sand, clay and limestone that drains water well and encourages the vines to root deeply. The climate near the Gironde offers ideal conditions. Proximity to the river acts as a natural temperature buffer. Atlantic winds bring freshness, and dry phases allow for concentrated ripening. This results in grapes with intense fruit and stable skins, perfect for a structured red wine with aging potential. In the vineyard, yields are consistently limited. The focus is on ripe, aromatic grapes rather than high quantity. Harvesting is selective, often in several passes. Only fully ripe berries make it to the cellar. Damaged or unripe grapes are consistently left out. After harvesting, the grapes are carefully sorted. This is followed by gentle destemming so that only the berries go into the fermentation vessels. A cool pre-fermentation maceration enhances the fruit aromas of cassis and dark berries and gives the later wine more depth. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. This allows the blend to show its pure fruit, without the fermentation becoming too hot. Regular pump-overs gently extract colour, tannins and aromatic compounds from the berry skins. Maturation in oak barrels gives the wine structure, stability and additional complexity. Part of the blend matures in French barriques. This is where the fine notes of vanilla, toast, cedarwoo...
