Vinification of the Bodegas Montecillo Montecillo Reserva This balanced red wine from Spain is made from the Tempranillo grape variety. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in La Rioja. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of clay and limestone. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in small wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by a few months of aging on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled. The aging in barrel is followed by a long aging in bottle, which makes this red wine even more complex.
