Pinot Grigio Ramato - AttemsThe elegant Pinot Grigio Ramato from Attems shimmers in the glass with a bright strawberry-pink color. Poured into a white wine glass, this rosé wine from Italy presents wonderfully expressive aromas of papaya, star fruit, guava and physalis, rounded off by oriental spices, vanilla and cocoa bean, which are contributed by the barrel ageing. On the palate, the Pinot Grigio Ramato from Attems opens wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. On the finish, this youthful rosé wine from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. Once again, there are hints of physalis and papaya. In the finish, mineral notes of the sand and clay-dominated soils are added. Vinification of the Pinot Grigio Ramato from Attems This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Pinot Grigio. Only the best grapes were used for this exceptionally balanced single-varietal wine from Attems. In Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sand, clay and gravel. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled. The ageing in wooden barrels is followed by extensive bottle ageing, which makes this rosé wine even more complex. Dining recommendations for the Pinot Grigio Ramato from Attems This rosé wine from Italy is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It goes perfectly with coconut and lime fish curry, vegetable salad with beetroot or wok vegetables with fish .
