Excellent taste does not necessarily require a lot of sugar. On the finish, this youthful white wine from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of Gallia melon and pineapple. Mineral notes from the marl and clay-dominated soils are added to the finish. Vinification of the Sauvignon Blanc Venezia Giulia from Attems This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Sauvignon Blanc. Only first-class grapes were used for this exceptionally elegant single-varietal wine from Attems. In Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loam, sandstone, clay and marl. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation for several months in oak barrels. Ageing in oak barrels is followed by considerable ageing in the bottle, which makes this white wine even more complex. Suggestions for Attems Sauvignon Blanc Venezia Giulia This white wine from Italy is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C.
