Oppenheimer Herrenberg *** Cabernet Sauvignon trocken - Weingut Manz

Oppenheimer Herrenberg *** Cabernet Sauvignon trocken - Weingut ManzOppenheimer Herrenberg *** Cabernet Sauvignon trocken - Weingut ManzIn the glass, the Oppenheimer Herrenberg *** Cabernet Sauvignon from Weingut Manz offers a dense purple color. Holding the glass at a slight angle, a transition of the wine color towards garnet red can be seen at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. When swirling the glass, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which is evident in distinct church windows at the rim of the glass. To the nose, this Weingut Manz red wine shows all sorts of blackberries, mulberries, black currants and blueberries. As if that wasn't already impressive, cigar box, oak and toasted barrique join the mix due to the aging in small wooden barrels. The Weingut Manz Oppenheimer Herrenberg Cabernet Sauvignon presents itself to the wine connoisseur wonderfully dry. This red wine never appears coarse or meager, but round and smooth. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully dense. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Oppenheimer Herrenberg Cabernet Sauvignon is exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this red wine with good aging potential from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen, more precisely from Oppenheim, finally impresses with exceptional reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the soils dominated by marl and limestone. Vinification of the Winery Manz Oppenheimer Herrenberg *** Cabernet Sauvignon The basis for the powerful Oppenheimer Herrenberg Cabernet Sauvignon from Rheinhessen are grapes from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety. In Rheinhessen, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone and marl. The fact that Cabernet Sauvignon grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has a considerable influence on the development of the grapes. This manifests itself, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the Oppenheimer Herrenberg Cabernet Sauvignon is aged in oak barrels for a few more months. Food recommendation for the Oppenheimer Herrenberg *** Cabernet Sauvignon by Weingut Manz This red wine from Germany is best enjoyed at a temperate 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as a companion to goose breast with gingered red cabbage and marjoram, stuffed peppers or roasted calf's liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce.
