Quinta da Leda Douro DOP - Casa FerreirinhaThe powerful Quinta da Leda Douro from Casa Ferreirinha enters the glass with a dense purple color. The first nose of Quinta da Leda Douro reveals notes of plums, damsons and black cherries. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by cinnamon, oriental spices and dark chocolate. This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with only 3 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine of this class, this Portuguese naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. The Casa Ferreirinha Quinta da Leda Douro shows us an incredibly fruity taste on the palate, which is not least due to its residual sweet profile. This velvety red wine presents itself on the palate full of pressure and complex. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Quinta da Leda Douro reveals itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this well storable red wine from the wine-growing region Douro & Porto finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, hints of plum and morello cherry show through. Vinification of the Quinta da Leda Douro from Casa Ferreirinha The powerful Quinta da Leda Douro from Portugal is a cuvée made from Tempranillo, Tinto Cão, Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grape varieties. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Quinta da Leda Douro are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After the hand harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.
