Alto Toscana IGT - PetraThe barrel-aged Alto Toscana from the wine-growing region of Tuscany is a dense ruby red in the glass. Swirling the glass, this red wine reveals a high level of density and richness, which can be seen in the clear stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. The first nose of the Alto Toscana presents notes of blackberries, mulberries and blackcurrants. The fruity hints of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel ageing such as sun-warmed stone and forest floor. This Italian wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally low residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so, despite its dryness, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance. Excellent taste does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully fleshy and dense. On the finish, this red wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region finally delights with its beautiful length. There are again hints of blackberry and blueberry. Vinification of the Petra Alto Toscana The powerful Alto Toscana from Italy is a single-varietal wine made from the Sangiovese grape variety.
