Kaisermantel Grauburgunder - Dr. KoehlerThe Kaisermantel Pinot Gris from the pen of Dr. Koehler from Rheinhessen shows a bright, copper-gold color in the swirled glass. The nose of this white wine from Rheinhessen convinces with aromas of white currant and gooseberry. Tracing the aromatics further, black tea, dark chocolate and Mediterranean herbs come through. This German wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As one might expect from a wine in the upper price range, this German wine naturally enraptures with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the tongue, this balanced white wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of gooseberry and white currant appear. Vinification of the Kaisermantel Pinot Gris from Dr. Koehler This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Pinot Gris. For this wonderfully balanced single-varietal wine from Dr. Koehler, only first-class grapes were used. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled. Food recommendation for the Kaisermantel Pinot Gris from Dr. Koehler This German white wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to roasted calf's liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce, stuffed peppers or braised chicken in red wine.
