A classic among the Wachau wines. Power and elegance at the same time. Lots of substance and potential. Concentrated and deep wines are characteristic of the Ried Kellerberg. The nose is already compact and expressive; firm spice and smoky. Very deep and spicy on the palate, texture-emphasized and characterized by a firm structure. Precise and powerful with a beautiful acid structure and mineral aftertaste. Smaragd stands for dry, dense and complex wines from the Wachau; in addition to structure and depth, Smaragd also impresses with its great storage potential. The Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Ried Kellerberg is a versatile companion. It goes just as well with Mediterranean cuisine such as a creamy asparagus risotto or fried sea bass with rosemary potatoes as it does with Austrian classics such as a Wiener schnitzel or baked porcini mushrooms with tartar sauce. But more exotic styles such as an Indian lamb biryani (lamb stew with curry, cashew nuts and raisins) are also great partners.
