Himmelstiege Grüner Veltiner Smaragd - Domäne Wachau

Open and expressive in the aroma, playful with spicy and exotic notes; on the palate piquant with pressure and complex aromas, very elegant and easy to drink; long-lasting. Smaragd stands for dry, dense and complex wines from the Wachau; in addition to structure and depth, smaragds also impress with their great storage potential. Ideally served at a chilled temperature, the wine goes perfectly with classic Austrian cuisine such as stuffed veal breast, roast goose and duck and even roast pork. The wine also harmonizes perfectly with Asian cuisine such as Thai satay gai (chicken skewers with peanut sauce), but also with characterful Mediterranean dishes such as a hearty paella, penne all'arrabbiata or a saltimbocca. It is very accessible even when young, but improves with good storage and a few years of maturation.
