Geistreich - TriebaumerIn the glass, the Geistreich from Triebaumer has a dense golden yellow color. If you swirl the wine glass, this dessert wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in church windows on the edge of the glass. Poured into a dessert wine glass, this dessert wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of apple, lemon, mirabelle plum and pear, rounded off with cocoa, wild berry and black cherry, which are contributed by the barrel ageing. The powerful Triebaumer Geistreich reveals an incredibly fruity taste on the palate, which is of course also due to its residual sweet taste profile. On the tongue, this powerful dessert wine is characterized by an incredibly velvety and dense texture. Thanks to its present fruit acidity, Geistreich is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this very mature dessert wine from the Burgenland wine-growing region, more precisely from Leithaberg / Neusiedlersee-Hügelland, finally convinces with a good aftertaste. Vinification of the Triebaumer Geistreich The powerful Geistreich from Austria is a cuvée made from the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grape varieties. Without question, the Geistreich is also determined by the Leithaberg / Neusiedlersee-Hügelland climate and winegrowing style. This Austrian wine can literally be described as a wine of the Old World, which presents itself in an extraordinarily impressive way. The fact that the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has a considerable influence on the development of the grapes. Among other things, this results in particularly long and even grapes and a rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. At the time of optimum ripeness, the grapes for the Geistreich are harvested exclusively by hand without the use of stressful and less selective grape harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation for several months in oak barriques.
