The Altomonte Suggianzi is wonderfully dry for the wine connoisseur. This white wine is never coarse or austere, but rather round and smooth. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced white wine appears wonderfully silky. Ultimately, this wine from the Calabria wine region impresses with its considerable length. Once again, hints of lemon and apricot emerge. In the finish, mineral notes from the limestone-dominated soils also become noticeable. Vinification of Altomonte Suggianzi The balanced Suggianzi from Italy is a cuvée made from the grape varieties Inzolia, Malvasia Bianca, and Moscatel. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Calabria. The vines root deeply into limestone soils here. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for Suggianzi are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of strenuous and less selective machinery. After harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the winery. Here, they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The vinification concludes with several months of aging on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.
