Abadia Cabernet Sauvignon Tempranillo DO - RaimatThe Abadia from Raimat combines the international classic Cabernet Sauvignon with the most ancient Spanish grape variety of all - Tempranillo. The Raimat Abadia comes into the glass with a radiant cherry red and violet highlights. The bouquet of this expressive red wine cuvée from the Catalan DO Costers del Segre delights with notes of plum, black currant and blackberry. Spicy notes of light pipe tobacco, dark dark chocolate and even some anise and caramel further refine the Abadia's nose. On the palate, Raimat's Abadia Cabernet Sauvignon Tempranillo is very present, structured and pleasantly elegant. The Tempranillo provides lightness, while the Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine plenty of power, dark berry fruit and tannin. Vinification of the Abadia Cabernet Sauvignon - Tempranillo The grapes for this cuvée all come from sustainable agriculture. The use of barrels was somewhat restrained, so that the fruit is in the foreground of this wine. About the name: Abadia, the Catalan word for abbey, recalls the commitment of the monks who have significantly shaped Catalonia's wine landscape over the centuries. The first Abadia was made in 1978 and has been the winery's emblem ever since.
