Vinification of the Francelina Vinho Tinto by Markus Schneider The basis for the balanced Francelina Vinho Tinto from Douro & Porto is grapes from the varieties Tempranillo, Tinto Cão, Tinta Francisca, Touriga Nacional, and Touriga Franca. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Douro & Porto. Here, the vines sink their roots deep into soils of sedimentary and weathered rock. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately brought to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is matured for several months in large wooden barrels.
