Rauenthaler Baiken Riesling Spätlese VDP 1. Lage - Kloster Eberbach

The ownership of estates in the Rauenthaler Berg was first documented in the Tiefenthal Monastery's property register in the early 13th century. In 1900, the Prussian government acquired the Baiken for 1.12 million gold marks. The name Baiken derives from the German word bend (bend) because the site lies in a bend. The steep south-facing slope, with a gradient of up to 60%, benefits from optimal sunlight. The soils are medium to deep, stony, and mostly lime-free. They consist of weathered slate, phyllites, quartzites, and loess loam. Intense fruitiness meets a finely integrated, harmonious spice – a balanced wine with depth and expression.
