The Brocard family markets the vineyards that lie outside the narrow boundaries of the Chablis appellation under the label LES CÉPAGES DE LA MAISON BROCARD, regardless of whether they are assigned to Saint-Bris, Irancy or the general Bourgogne AOP appellation. These are therefore by no means purchased goods. All grapes come from their own vineyards, which are often only a few kilometers from Chablis. It is no wonder that the stylistic similarity to the more famous neighbor is unmistakable: flint and beautiful smokiness in the nose immediately make you think of Chablis. On the palate there are lots of ripe citrus aromas, subtle lactic notes and a very clear minerality in the finish, which is very well integrated into the wine. A very balanced Chardonnay, actually a small Chablis, even if it is not officially allowed to be called that.
