CRU Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG - Az.Agr. Buglioni SA

In the summer of 1993, the Buglioni family, a long-established family of restaurateurs, fulfilled a long-held dream and bought an old farmstead and five hectares of vineyards and olive groves. Today, the size of the business has multiplied, but all of the vineyards owned by the Buglionis are located in the original zone of the Valpolicella Classico region, i.e. the hilly zone east of Lake Garda with the best locations in the Sant'Ambrogio plateau and the San Pietro valley. The Amarone comes from a single location in San Pietro in Cariano, hence the name Cru . After the harvest in the second half of September, the grapes are dried until January, after which the wine is fermented. The wine is then aged for around 36 months in 25 and 50 hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels, followed by 24 months in bottle ageing. Goes well with classic braised game and beef, duck - also in Asian versions. Colour: dark ruby red. Aroma: ripe plums, blueberries, hints of spices and tobacco. Taste: dark cherries, juicy, impressive concentration, long finish.
