In the summer of 1993, the Buglioni family, a long-established family of restaurateurs, fulfilled a long-held dream and acquired an old farmstead and five hectares of vineyards and olive groves. Today, the size of the business has multiplied, but all of the vineyards owned by the Buglionis are located in the original zone of the Valpolicella Classico region, i.e. the hilly zone east of Lake Garda with the best locations in the Sant'Ambrogio plateau and the San Pietro valley. The Superiore 44 Verticale is actually a small Amarone. It was made from the best organic grapes in very limited quantities. The Verticale matured for ten months in barrels. Then it was refined in the bottle for a further 15 months. Only 3,333 bottles were bottled. Color: dark black-red. Aroma: ripe fruit, plum, spices, hints of tobacco. Taste: strong, concentrated fruit, mouth-filling, elegant tannins.
