Cayrelières Rouge ohne SO2-Zusatz - Château La Baronne

Apart from the PIÈCE DE ROCHE, which is exceptional in many ways, Château La Baronne stands above all for cuvées, assembled from typical southern French grape varieties from various plots of the 90 hectare vineyard. The Lignières family also produces other single-varietal wines: 'vins monocépages', as the French call them. These always come from very special plots. This is also the case with the CAYRELIÈRES from the plot of the same name. The 15-year-old Grenache vines for this wine are located in a valley. The name of the site ultimately comes from the Occitan word 'cayre', which means something like 'stones', in this case calcareous pebbles. A 100% Grenache, spontaneously fermented and aged in steel tanks, which is bottled without fining, without filtration and without the addition of sulphur. Lots of dark fruit on the nose, meadow herbs, a subtle smokiness and liquorice. Very juicy on the palate, notes of graphite and fennel seeds. Quite creamy, with soft, inviting tannins. Despite its strength, a very catchy Grenache with lots of finesse and freshness.
