The Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Cuvée Vieilles Vignes of Domaine Ponsot was born in the Morey-Saint-Denis area, right in the center of the famous Côte de Nuits area, between Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny. The Pinot Noir grapes ferment in wooden barrels at a controlled temperature. Maturation always takes place in first or second passage barrels. The wine has an intense and deep ruby red color. The bouquet is a complex and seductive mix of ripe red fruits such as dark cherries, raspberries and blueberries, enriched by spicy tones, aromatic herbs and a subtle trace of toasted wood. On the palate it manifests itself with structure and power, well-fused tannins and a slightly mineral aftertaste. It goes perfectly with red meats and game dishes, where its structure and intensity of flavors are reflected in the richness and complexity of the foods.
