The Champagne Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Oger by Valentin Leflaive is made from Chardonnay grapes originating from the village of Oger, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. The vineyards, located on clay-limestone soils with a strong presence of craie and southeast exposure, give the wine a pronounced mineral expression and remarkable aromatic richness.The harvest is manual and followed by a fractional pressing that selects the noblest parts of the must; fermentation takes place both in steel and oak barrels with a part of reserve wines, while extended lees aging contributes to the development of complexity, structure, and depth.It displays a bright color; on the nose, it is expressive and generous with notes of candied fruit, citrus, and iodized nuances; on the palate, it is broad and structured, with citrusy hints and a marked savoriness that leads to a long and persistent finish.Ideal with shellfish, structured seafood dishes, and refined fish-based preparations.
