Frankenthal Spätburgunder 1G - Krone Assmannshausen

The Assmannshäuser Frankenthal 2022 displays aromas of currants and cranberries. On the palate, it displays balanced tannins, elegantly mineral, soft, smooth, and fragrant. Site & Terroir Vineyard: Harvested with strict selection and aged in high-quality Burgundy barriques, both in second and third use, this wine is released only four years after the harvest. The name comes from the Old High German word vrankendale and is derived from the property of a freeman or the property of a Frank (person). The vineyards stretch along the slope above Assmannshausen toward Rüdesheim and slope southwestward parallel to the Rhine. The Pinot Noir wines are similar to the Höllenberg wines, appearing somewhat broader and also exhibiting a velvety, spicy note with a very intense aroma. Terroir: Some areas shallow, mostly medium to deep, stony weathered soils of slate-quartzite, clay/loess deposits.
