Barolo Riserva DOCG - Fontanafredda

Barolo Riserva DOCG - FontanafreddaBarolo Riserva DOCG - FontanafreddaIn the glass, the Barolo Riserva from the pen of Fontanafredda presents a bright ruby red color. With a little sideways movement, the Burgundy goblet reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the edges. After the first swirl, you can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it is neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. This Fontanafredda red wine presents the nose with all kinds of black cherries, morello cherries, plums and prunes. As if that wasn't already impressive, the ageing in small wooden barrels adds further aromas such as air-dried ham, oriental spices and cocoa beans. This dry red wine from Fontanafredda is perfect for purists who like it absolutely dry. The Barolo Riserva comes very close to this, as it was produced with just 0.5 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly velvety texture. The Barolo Riserva is impressively fresh and lively on the palate thanks to its present fruit acidity. On the finish, this mature wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region impresses with its exceptional length. Once again, there are hints of black cherry and plum. Vinification of the Barolo Riserva from Fontanafredda This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Nebbiolo. Only first-class grapes were harvested for this exceptionally well-balanced single-varietal wine from Fontanafredda. Of course, the Barolo Riserva is also characterized by more than just the Barolo DOCG soil. This Italian wine can literally be described as a wine of the Old World, which presents itself in an exceptionally impressive way. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation for 62 months in oak barrels. Once the wine is finished, the Barolo Riserva is carefully harmonized. Dining recommendations for Fontanafredda Barolo Riserva This red wine from Italy should ideally be served at a temperature of 15 - 18°C with veal and onion casserole, baked sheep's cheese parcels or goose breast with ginger-red cabbage and marjoram. <p
