Grauburgunder trocken - Ökonomierat Rebholz

Grauburgunder trocken - Ökonomierat RebholzGrauburgunder trocken - Ökonomierat RebholzThe Grauburgunder from the hand of Ökonomierat Rebholz in the Palatinate shows a bright, copper-golden color in the swirled glass. If you give it some air by swirling it in the wine glass, you can perceive a first-class balance in this white wine, as it neither appears watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. The first nose of the Grauburgunder presents nuances of ripe apple, dried apricot and pear. Additional fruity-balsamic nuances join the fruity hints of the bouquet. This German wine delights with its elegantly dry taste profile. It was bottled with an exceptionally low residual sugar content. As you would expect from a wine in the premium and single-vineyard segment, this German wine naturally enchants, despite all its dryness, with the finest balance. Flavor does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. Balanced and multi-layered, this dense white wine presents itself on the palate. The finish of this youthful white wine from the Palatinate wine-growing region ultimately impresses with a remarkable length. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral notes from the loess and clay-dominated soils. Vinification of Ökonomierat Rebholz Grauburgunder The basis for the balanced Grauburgunder from the Palatinate is grapes of the Grauburgunder variety. In the Palatinate, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay and loess soils. The Grauburgunder is an Old World wine through and through, as this German wine exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine matures for several months on the fine lees before it is finally racked. Food recommendation for Ökonomierat Rebholz Grauburgunder This German white wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine with leek tortilla, coconut-lime fish curry or spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto.
