Giorgio Rivetti of La Spinetta has acquired this historic winery. Contratto, based in Canelli (Asti), is the oldest Spumante (Méthode Champenoise) winery in Italy. It was the FIRST in Italy to produce Spumante using the Champagne method, even before the Franciacorta Spumante, for example, existed. The grapes come from Bossolasco at an altitude of 830 meters. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2012. Color: sparkling light yellow, long-lasting perlage. Bouquet: powerful nose with aromas of white fruits.
