Branco de Sta. Cruz is a white wine produced by Telmo Rodríguez in the Galician region of Valdeorras, in the Ladeiras do Bibei subzone. It comes from various plots located in the village of Santa Cruz, grown on terraced slopes overlooking the Bibei River. The varieties used are Godello, Treixadura, Doña Branca, and Palomino, cultivated organically with bush vines and manually harvested in boxes.Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts, and the wine matures for 10 months in barrels and foudres of various capacities, a process that enhances the territorial expression and maintains the varietal identity. The vineyards, located between 400 and 600 meters above sea level, rest on shallow, acidic, low-fertility granite soils, with exposures varying from south to west and northwest.In the glass, the wine offers a fine complexity, with hints of white fruit, wildflowers, and mineral notes. On the palate, it stands out for its well-balanced freshness, elegant structure, and savory finish reflecting the granitic origin of the soils and the altitude of the vineyards.Ideal with freshwater fish dishes or soft fresh cheeses.
