The Auxey-Duresses Les Clous by Domaine Pierre Boisson is an elegant expression of Chardonnay coming from one of the most renowned appellations of the Côte de Beaune, in Burgundy. The winemaking process follows traditional methods, which respect and enhance the character of the starting grape variety. The wine matures in oak barrels, using both first and second passage wood, to allow a subtle integration of the wood aromas without overpowering the natural expressiveness of the fruit. In the glass it appears of a brilliant straw yellow color with bright reflections. On the nose it offers an inviting and rich bouquet in which hints of apple, fish and honey predominate, with hints of fresh almond and toasted bread. In the mouth it is soft and enveloping, fresh and persistent. It is recommended in combination with fish and poultry dishes, but also goes well with a refined seafood-based second course.
