The Single Barrel Rye is the first Tennessee Rye Whiskey in the history of Jack Daniel's distillery. It comes from a unique blend consisting of 70% rye combined with 18% wheat and 12% barley. After slow and prolonged fermentation and double distillation, it undergoes the typical filtering drop by drop in activated carbon and matures in toasted and charred American oak barrels. To the eye it appears amber in colour and to the nose it shows off complex aromas of ripe fruit and light toasted sensations of oak wood. In the mouth there is a spicy and pleasant flavour, with a strong and persistent taste of rye that indelibly marks it without overpowering the other aromas. Great to serve over ice or for blending a perfect Sazerac.
