Jean-Fritz Crémant Brut - Weingut JülgIn the glass, Jean-Fritz Crémant Brut - Weingut Jülg displays a light straw yellow with fine, persistent streams of bubbles. The mousse appears delicate and lively, rising in dense chains and lending the sparkling wine a noble aura. The very first glance already sparks anticipation of a clear, precise yet playful moment of enjoyment. On the nose, a classic, elegant interplay of aromas unfolds. Ripe yellow apple and juicy pear meet fresh lemon zest and a hint of lime. Added to this is a fine note of brioche, reminiscent of fresh butter croissants and lightly toasted white bread. In the background, nuances of white peach, tangerine, a touch of hazelnut and a hint of wet limestone appear. This combination underscores its origin in southern Palatinate, where the vines ripen on calcareous soils and develop a clear, minerally driven profile. On the palate, Jean-Fritz Crémant Brut - Weingut Jülg presents itself dry, crisp and precise. The lively acidity carries the fruit with real tension. Fresh citrus fruits, green apple and a touch of quince shape the opening. In the mid-palate, a fine creaminess builds, reminiscent of lemon cream, delicate brioche crumb and a hint of almond. The mousse is delightfully fine, caressing the tongue and giving the wine lightness and elegance. The body remains slender yet always present, with a clear line and stimulating freshness. The aromatics display appealing depth and complexity, which open up further with a bit of air. Alongside apple and lemon, nuances of grapefruit peel, some Williams pear, fresh yeast dough and a hint of white blossoms emerge. The subtle minerality lends the wine structure and bite without ever seeming harsh. The finish is medium to long, with citrusy freshness, a touch of brioche and a salty note that makes you crave the next sip. Typical for the cuvée of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, this Crémant shows a stylish combination of finesse, clarity and juicy fruit. Production of Jean-Fritz Crémant Brut from Weingut Jülg The grapes for this Crémant come from selected parcels in the Palatinate, around Schweigen in the extreme south of the region. The climate here is marked by warm days but also cooler nights. As a result, the berries ripen fully yet retain fresh, stable acidity. Calcareous and partly loess soils give the grapes structure, minerality and clarity. Thus, the foundation for an exciting, straightforward sparkling wine is already laid in the vineyard. The cuvée consists of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. Chardonnay provides the wine with backbone, citrus-driven tension and the elegant brioche note. This grape variety shows great class in the sparkling wine sector and lends refinement. Pinot Blanc brings juicy fruit of apple, pear and a touch of nuttiness. At the same time, it ensures a harmonious mouthfeel and a charming, approachable character on the palate.
