Sankt Laurent - GlatzerWith the Glatzer Sankt Laurent comes a first-class red wine into the swirled glass. In this it presents a wonderfully bright, light red color. To the nose, this Glatzer red wine reveals all sorts of blueberries, morello cherries, blackberries, plums and black cherries. As if that wasn't already impressive, vanilla, black tea and gingerbread spice join in due to the aging in small wooden barrels. This Austrian wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this Austrian enchants naturally with all dryness with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily need residual sugar. On the tongue, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by a tremendously fleshy texture. In the finish, this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, hints of black cherry and plum appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and sand join in. Vinification of the Glatzer Sankt Laurent This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Saint Laurent. Only the best grapes were harvested for this exceptionally balanced single-varietal wine from Glatzer. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Lower Austria. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay and sand. The grapes for this red wine from Austria, when perfectly ripe, are harvested exclusively by hand. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by 12 months of aging in oak barriques.
