Archimedes - Francis Ford Coppola Winery

Archimedes - Francis Ford Coppola WineryArchimedes - Francis Ford Coppola WineryThe Archimedes from Francis Ford Coppola Winery is a fascinating blend of the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon (80%), Petit Verdot (10%), Cabernet Franc (6%) and Malbec (4%). This Californian red wine already convinces in the glass with its strong ruby color and violet reflections. The bouquet reveals intense aromas of raspberries as well as currants and lavender flowers. The aromas of the nose are accompanied by notes of figs and cocoa. The variety of aromas continues on the palate and is complemented by noble plum, blackberry and hints of clove and allspice. Ripe soft tannins lead into a long aromatic finish. Vinification of Archimedes Coppola The grapes are sourced from vineyards in Alexander Valley, Sonoma County and North Coast. This California red wine ages for a total of 20 months in French oak barriques. Through aging in wood, this wine develops its fine tannins, wonderful fruit flavors and full texture. Food recommendation for the Coppolas Archimedes Enjoy this top red wine with lamb stew with couscous, leg of lamb with herb coating and sweet potato mash or with spicy cheeses - especially Gorgonzola.
