Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG - Castello di Gabbiano

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG - Castello di GabbianoChianti Classico Riserva DOCG - Castello di GabbianoThe Chianti Classico Riserva is Castello di Gabbiano's most famous wine and has already received numerous international awards. This red wine is made from Sangiovese (95%) and Merlot (5%). In the glass, it shines a bright ruby red with cherry-red highlights. The expressive bouquet reveals aromas of black cherries and strawberries - accompanied by notes of cedar wood and tobacco. The palate enjoys an elegant body with a firm tannin structure. This red wine is pleasantly fresh and the acidity is perfectly balanced. The finish has a wonderful, pleasant length. Vinification of the Gabbiano Chianti Classico Riserva The Sangiovese and Merlot grapes come from 15-year-old vines. Once the grapes arrive in the wine cellar, they are carefully selected by hand. After the grapes are pressed, the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Finally, this wine rests for 12 months in small barrels (80% second fill, 20% new) and in large French oak barrels. Recommendation for the Riserva Chianti Classico Castello di Gabbiano Serve this dry red wine from Italy with grilled meat, pasta with a spicy sauce and mushroom risotto. We recommend decanting this wine before serving. Awards for the Chianti Classico Riserva from Castello di Gabbiano Mundus Vini: Silver for 2013 Wine Spectator: 92 points for 2013 Robert Whitley: 93 points for 2013
