Blaufränkisch vom Kalk - Markus Altenburger

Blaufränkisch vom Kalk - Markus AltenburgerBlaufränkisch vom Kalk - Markus AltenburgerThe Blaufränkisch vom Kalk from the hand of Markus Altenburger from Burgenland offers a brilliant, purple-red color in the glass. Poured into a red wine glass, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of blackberry, strawberry, and raspberry, rounded off by further fruity nuances contributed by maturation in wooden casks. On the palate, Markus Altenburger’s Blaufränkisch vom Kalk opens wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven, and balanced. On the palate, the texture of this light-footed red wine presents itself as delightfully silky. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Burgenland wine-growing region ultimately delights with a remarkable aftertaste. Vinification of Markus Altenburger Blaufränkisch vom Kalk This elegant red wine from Austria is made from the Blaufränkisch grape variety. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately brought to the winery. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the light-footed Blaufränkisch vom Kalk is aged for several more months in 2,400 l double wooden casks made of oak. Food recommendation for Markus Altenburger Blaufränkisch vom Kalk Enjoy this Austrian red wine ideally at a temperature of 15 - 18°C as an accompanying wine to boeuf bourguignon, duck breast with sugar snap peas, or fried calf’s liver with apples, onions, and balsamic sauce.
