Château Leoville Las Cases Saint-Julien AOC 2ème Cru Classé 0,75 ℓ

The vineyards of Château Leoville Las Cases are still owned today by the Delon family. Since the 1970s, thanks to the guidance of Michel Delon, the wines of Château Leoville Las Cases have made a great leap in quality. Today at the helm of the Château are his sons Jean Hubert Delon and Genevieve d'Alton. The fermentation of the grapes traditionally takes place in wooden vats of different sizes, while the malolactic fermentation takes place in steel vats. The wine then ages in French oak barrels (90% new wood) for about 18 months before being bottled. In the glass the wine is striking for its deep, dark purple red. The olfactory profile is complex, rich in hints of wild berries (cassis, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries) accompanied by aromas of tobacco, spices and lavender. On the palate it impresses with its full sip, silky tannins and its splendid freshness, leaving long and deep final sensations. This extraordinary wine is perfect in combination with important meat dishes, such as roast duck with confit onions or roast leg of lamb with vegetables.
