Tapada de Villar Tinto - Quinta das Arcas

Tapada de Villar Tinto - Quinta das ArcasTapada de Villar Tinto - Quinta das ArcasThe Tapada de Villar Tinto from Quinta das Arcas is a complex blend. This red wine comes up with aromas of plums, prunes, and wonderful spice. The Tapada de Villar Tinto of Quinta das Arcas reveals a dark ruby color in the glass. Clean notes of medium intensity reach the nose. Red fruits, plums and warm vanilla notes dominate here, accented by oak. On the palate, the dry acidity comes through well, balanced by soft and ripe tannins. Again, the fruity character of Tapada Tinto comes through well. Velvety plums, lovely cinnamon, dark chocolate and fine nutmeg accompany. The four months in barrique are due to the wood and spice notes, which also characterize the long reverberation of the cuvée. Vinification of the Tapada de Villar Tinto The grapes of Tapada de Villar Tinto ripen on the plains of the Alentejo in the sub-regions of Orada and Borba, in a dry Mediterranean climate and under the difficult conditions of widely varying temperatures between day and night. To ensure the quality of the harvest is harvested at night and quickly destemmed. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks, where the mash cake is regularly pumped under the must. Afterwards, this Portuguese red wine is aged for 4 months in French oak barriques. Food recommendation for the Quinta das Arcas Tapada de Villar We recommend this dry red wine with Portuguese tapas, salami, cured ham, mature cheese or simply with bread with olive oil and salt.
