On the nose, this Christie'S Port Wine red wine offers all kinds of blackberries and sour cherries. As if that were not already impressive, the maturation in stainless steel also brings in toasted wood, garrigue and blackcurrant. Christie'S Port Wine Dona Mafalda presents itself to the wine drinker pleasantly dry. This red wine never appears coarse or lean, as might be expected from a wine. Powerful and complex, this dense, velvety and meaty red wine presents itself on the palate. On the finish, this red wine from the Douro & Porto region delights with a lovely length. Hints of sour cherry and blackberry appear again. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is matured for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled. It is a perfect companion to goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram, boeuf bourguignon or vegetable couscous with beef meatballs.
