Zweitwein Chateau Haut Brion 92/100 vinous The 2008 Clarence Haut-Brion has a clean and fresh bouquet with hints of damp loamy soil and iris interwoven into the red berry fruit. There is something very “pastoral” about the aromatics. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, well balanced with decent depth. It is not overly complex but it conveys a sense of energy and there is a palpable saline note that lingers on the aftertaste. This is a real turn up for the books, far surpassing my own expectations.
