I Muri Primitivo Puglia IGP - Vigneti del SalentoThe I Muri Primitivo from Vigneti del Salento has an intense ruby red color with violet reflections. Its bouquet has a seductive aroma of red and black fruits (cherries, plums and dark wild berries). This Italian red wine is wonderfully smooth on the palate. The fruity aromas on the nose are also present on the palate, where they are juicy and opulent. These are accompanied by an elegant spiciness of cedar wood and Mediterranean herbs. Velvety tannins accompany the full-bodied, powerful body with plenty of smoothness and warmth. Vinification of the I Muri Primitivo The grapes for this Primitivo grow in Salento on red brick soils. This stores the heat and then releases it to the vines at night. This compensates for the large temperature differences. Together with the sea breeze, these conditions encourage the development of particularly intense fruit aromas. After harvesting, the grapes are carefully destemmed and crushed. The must ferments on the skins for around 10 days. Malolactic fermentation is then carried out in steel tanks. Part of the base wine is matured for some time in used barrels before being blended and bottled.
