Kadette Pinotage is a wine from the Kanonkop company, located in Stellenbosch, one of the most famous wine-growing areas in South Africa. The Kanonkop family business mainly produces red wines that are different interpretations of Pinotage, the prince red grape of South Africa. The story of the name Kanonkop is reminiscent of a cannon placed on top of Mount Simonsberg that warned farmers of the arrival of merchant ships in Table Bay, so that they could set out to barter for goods.
