Glenmorangie The Nectar is a 16-year-old Scottish single malt. It is one of the flagship expressions of the Glenmorangie range and represents an evolution of the previous Nectar D'Or. The production process involves a main maturation of 14 years in ex-bourbon barrels, followed by a final refinement of 2 years in selected barrels of sweet wines: Sauternes and Monbazillac from France, Moscatel from Spain and Tokaji from Hungary. The nose reveals a deep richness of baked brioche, baked apricots, vanilla custard, toasted almonds, raisin bread, and hints of chocolate and honey with a hint of herbaceous notes (sage or basil). On the palate, it is enveloping, dense, and viscous, with vanilla, apricot, sweet bread with raisins, sweet spices (nutmeg, star anise), and a vibrant accent of lemon zest; the finish is long and lingering, with notes of honey, bread crust, and citrus zest. Perfect for meditation, after a meal or to be enjoyed neat.
