In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the sand-dominated soils join in. Vinification of La Vrille Vuillermin This balanced red wine from Italy is made from the Vuillermin grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Aosta Valley. Here the vines drive their roots deep into sandy soils. After the grape harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks and large wood at controlled temperatures follows. After it is complete, the elegant Vuillermin is aged for another 33 months in oak barrels. Aging in oak barrels is followed by a long bottle maturation, which makes this red wine even more complex. Food recommendation for Vuillermin from La Vrille This red wine from Italy should ideally be enjoyed at a temperature of 15–18°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompaniment to lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs, stuffed peppers, or fried calf’s liver with apples, onions and balsamic sauce.
