Clos Fontá Vi de Finca DOCa - Mas d'en GilThe Clos Fontá Vi de Finca from Mas d'en Gil is a deep, expressive red wine blend of Grenache (60%) and Cariñena (40%) grape varieties. This wine is grown in the Priorat region of Catalonia, Spain. In the glass shimmers in dark cherry red with purple highlights. The nose enjoys an intense bouquet that reveals aromas of red and black berry fruits - ranging from blackberry to black currant, boysenberry and raspberry. The aromas of the nose are accompanied by balsamic and mineral notes. The lively, juicy and expressive character skillfully caresses the palate. The soft tannin structure is wonderfully present and leads into a very long lasting finish with mineral nuances. Vinification of the Mas d'en Gil Clos Fontá Vi de Finca The grapes for this Spanish red wine grow on vines about 60 years old on quartz and slate soils in steep slopes (300-400 m altitude). The harvest takes place from August to September. The grapes are carefully selected by hand and are already selected in the vineyard. The grapes are gently pressed in the winery and the resulting must is fermented in open large wooden barrels and stainless steel tanks. Finally, this wine rests for 14 months in French oak barrels. This gives this red wine its strong color, wonderful aromas and distinctive yet soft tannins.
