SCORPUS - Terra Nera

In pioneering work, the Terra Nera winery has achieved its ultimate goal! It is proud to present the 2016 Terra Nera wine SCORPUS from its own vineyards, which for the first time will be offered to a wider audience, terranera.wine. This is pure Tuscany: The full-bodied SCORPUS, as pure Sangiovese, convinces every lover of Italian wine art. Due to the exceptional climatic conditions of the Tuscany and the barrique storage the winery was able to create this unique wine in 2016. The SCORPUS is an expressive wine with cherry and herbal notes, which fits to a strong meal. The grapes of Terra Nera are a visual reflection of their home, an island in the Tuscany. They are smaller and darker than commercial grapes. In taste they are smokier, digestible and with high polyphenol content. Terra Nera red wines are characterized by their deep, complex and persistent body, which dances delicately and filigree on the tongue, while a natural firework of aromas ignites in the nose and on the palate, which as such remains in the memory for a long time. It is only the rediscovery and reunification of this unique Terra Nera area that makes it possible to revive wines in the style of Super-Tuscans. In the mouth plump and soft, very fine, silky tannin in good dose, ripe acidity, a Sangiovese in a Sunday suit, extremely balanced, stylistically, however, more pleasing by fullness and power than by primal wildness.
