Lemberger VDP.Gutswein Edytion Karl Haidle

The soils for this wonderful introduction to Moritz Haidle's Lemberger world consist primarily of limestone and clay. Limestone stores heat during the day and slowly releases it at night – something the Lemberger wine evidently enjoys. The Lemberger grapes are hand-harvested from the estate's own vineyards in the Remstal valley and fermented on the skins. The initial nose is dominated by red and black berries, followed by notes of black pepper and cloves. On the palate, this wine is very juicy and possesses an appealing acidity. The fine-grained tannins leave a pleasant mouthfeel.
