Grans Muralles - Miguel Torres

The Grans Muralles from Familia Torres is an exceptional wine from the D.O. Conca de Barberà, named after the medieval walls of the Poblet Monastery that surround the vineyards. This project began in the 1980s with the goal of reviving almost forgotten Catalan grape varieties such as Garró and Querol, which, along with Cariñena, Garnacha, and Monastrell, form the basis of this wine. The vines grow on deep, stony soils of slate and granite, which give the wine its distinctive identity. Aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels, the Grans Muralles presents a complex aromatic profile with notes of blueberries, ripe red fruits, dried flowers, and a hint of nutmeg. On the palate, it is intense and concentrated, with a silky texture and a long, pleasant finish.
