Viña Sol was one of the first new creations by the young Miguel A. Torres in 1962. Freshly graduated in viticulture and oenology, he sought out a small winery near the family vineyard to produce a delicately fruity, still white wine using cool fermentation. This was an absolute novelty in the Penedès region, which at the time was clearly dominated by Cava. His father was more than skeptical, but the result was stunning! And it remains so to this day. Pure and fresh as the morning sun over the vineyards, Viña Sol remains a must-have in any Spanish wine selection. The original enchants with a fragrant, fresh bouquet of sun-ripened citrus fruits (grapefruit), crisp apples, a hint of stone fruit, and mountain herbs. On the palate, it is silky, perfectly balanced, and vibrant, with delicate fruit and an elegant, slightly lemony acidity.
