Château Gazin besitzt eine faszinierende Geschichte, die bis ins 12. Jahrhundert zurückreicht und eng mit dem Malteserorden verbunden ist. Heute bewirtschaftet das Weingut 23 Hektar Rebfläche. Merlot dominiert, ergänzt durch Cabernet Sauvignon und Cabernet Franc. Daraus entsteht ein gehaltvoller, samtiger Wein mit einer intensiven Fruchtigkeit, die durch eine feine Tanninstruktur ausbalanciert wird. Saftig, rund, reife Kirschen, runde Tannine, feiner Säurebogen, mineralisch, bereits zugänglich, wirkt harmonisch und entwickelt, ein vielseitiger Speisenbegleiter. 91-93 Punkte Vinous (Neal Martin) The 2023 Gazin has a typical bouquet for this Pomerol estate—always understated, and one where you have to spend time coaxing aromas. Eventually, it offers predominantly black fruit laced with black truffles and light earthy scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. It veers more toward red fruit laced with white pepper on the cohesive and classically styled finish. This is maybe not a long-term Gazin, but it has an air of sophistication.
