Riesling Zeller Kreuzberg - Weingut Schwedhelm

The Zeller Kreuzberg vineyard lies at an altitude of approximately 240 meters directly on the edge of the village and, with a slope of up to 27%, faces due south, creating optimal ripening conditions. The soils, composed of limestone and clay loam, impart a stark, precise minerality and clear structure to the wine. After a pre-selection, the fully ripe grapes were hand-harvested, left on the skins for eight hours, and then fermented spontaneously and at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks. Towards the end of fermentation, pure yeast cultures were introduced to reduce the residual sugar to a minimum before the wine matured on the lees until the end of May. In the glass, the Riesling displays crystal-clear minerality, a vibrant, precisely defined acidity, and delicate notes of stone fruit and citrus – a classic, expressive example of its vineyard.
